Privacy notice

This notice explains how Hearthgrove (sole trader) (“we”, “Hearthgrove”) handles your personal data. We are the data controller. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

• Order details you give us: name, email, delivery address and postcode.
• Your order history and the messages you send us.
• Payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• To fulfil your order (performance of a contract) — taking payment, having your books dispatched, and emailing you about your order.
• Legitimate interests — answering your messages and keeping our shop secure.
• We do not send marketing email without your consent, and we never sell your data.

Who we share it with (processors)

Only the suppliers needed to run the shop: Stripe (payments), our book wholesaler/dispatch partner (to post your order), Amazon SES (email), and Cloudflare and Google Cloud (hosting and delivery). Some process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for up to 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations; general enquiries are kept no longer than needed and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or to object to processing — email [email protected]. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
